More Skytrain Craziness

On the skytrain yesterday I had quite the adventure! First, in the morning, I had pulled out my Dragon Ball comic (in Chinese) and had barely begun to read when an older Chinese guy sat down beside me (one stop since I got on myself). As soon as he saw me reading Chinese he started talking to me and I never got to read again until he got off at Broadway. He went on about how it was difficult to read Chinese and praised my ability. He also suggested I get LOTS of girlfriends, some Mandarin-speaking and some Cantonese-speaking, so I can learn even faster! Even the other people sitting around me had a chuckle at that one.

But the real craziness was on the way home after work, again, one stop after getting on the skytrain. But this time it was an older CRAZY Italian (I think), possibly homeless weird woman. She said something unintelligable to me multiple times, as well as asking if she could sit down (as I was sitting in a seat at the time). She kept asking until I finally decided to let her sit. I didn't want to stand for the next 40 minutes, but decided to be the bigger man and ignore my back pain that I was sure to endure. Even though she was crazy and hit me with her little buggy (and another guy who got really mad) after I got up for her, and even though she didn't even say thank-you, and even though she got off at Metrotown while I still had to stand for another 4 stops, I figure I did the right thing.

The following came to mind as I stood there, trying not to feel angry (Matthew 7:1-2):

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

I did my best to get rid of any angry or annoyed feelings I had towards the woman, but it certainly wasn't easy.
